1. Simple description

SoundVQ is high-performance software for compression of audio data. The SoundVQ Encoder is used to compress the audio data. The SoundVQ Player is used to play the compressed data. SoundVQ uses TwinVQ (technology developed by NTT) to realize a high compression rate of 1/20 while hardly damaging the sound quality.

3. Install/UnInstall

Install/UnInstall of Player and Plug-in

Install
Double-click the vqp200b1e.exe file, and the installer will start up. Follow the instructions to perform the installation.

Note

If you are using MS Internet Explorer and have used the installer to install the software, but the player or plug-in fails to start up when you click on a SoundVQ file in Internet Explorer, try the following procedure.

  1. In the Internet Explorer menu, choose View -> Settings ->'Temporary Internet files' , press the "Empty folder" button, then press "Yes," and finally press "OK."
  2. Next, click the "Page" tab, press the "Clear history" button located at the lower right, and press "Yes."
  3. Next press "OK" to return to the Internet Explorer window, select the exit command from the Internet Explorer menu to close the program, use the Start button to exit Windows, and restart.

If you will be installing "SoundVQ Player" in an environment where only IE3.0 has been installed, follow the directions of the installer.
The "Read me" and "Terms of use" files will be registered in the program manager, so be sure to read these files before using the software.

UnInstall
From "Program" in start menu of Windows, choose "YAMAHA SoundVQ Player and Plug-in Ver2.00b1" -> "UnInstall SoundVQ".



Install/UnInstall of Encoder

Install
Double click the vqe200b1e.exe file to start the installation. Follow the dialogue to complete the installation. Please make sure to read the "Read Me"(this document) and "License Agreement" before using the software.

UnInstall
From "Program" in start menu of Windows, choose "YAMAHA SoundVQ Encoder Ver2.00b1" -> "UnInstall SoundVQ Encoder Ver2.00b1".
